..::OVERVIEW::.

Clue: 9 | Enemy Mgmt: 6 | Treachery: 7 | Tempo: 10 | Consistency: 10

This deck revolves around streamlining Daisy's consistency and expediting her core engine setup without forgoing premium investigation actions during the early turns. The new Old Book of Lore compresses both a targeted draw and the action required to play the asset. Previously Daisy couldn't get down Dr. Milan Christopher / St. Hubert's Key and Old Book of Lore down in 1 turn. Now she can.

The core of the deck only requires 10XP, and you can jumpstart her tempo as early as 4-7XP into the campaign. You will absolutely still need a dedicated fighter for your team, this deck is definitely not geared towards solo since it only provides you with temporary enemy management in the form of Archaic Glyphs and Mind over Matter.

.::CORE UPGRADES::.

  1. 3XP 1 Old Book of Lore ==> 1 Old Book of Lore
  2. 6XP 2 Archaic Glyphs ==> 1 Archaic Glyphs + 1 Archaic Glyphs
  3. 1XP 1 Truth from Fiction ==> Pathfinder

.::NEW CAMPAIGN::.

To start a new campaign, remove these cards and add these:

  1. Encyclopedia ==> Scroll of Prophecies
  2. Old Book of Lore ==> Old Book of Lore
  3. Archaic Glyphs ==> Archaic Glyphs
  4. Pathfinder ==> Truth from Fiction

.:: MULLIGAN PRIORITY::.

  1. Old Book of Lore - Core engine
  2. Research Librarian - Basically 2 extra copies of Core engine
  3. Old Book of Lore
  4. Knowledge is Power

.::PILOTING / DECK EXPLANATION::.

Old Book of Lore - If you start with 5 resources, playing this will leave you with 3 resources, enough so that you can play your Key or Milan off the Lore search since their playing costs will be reduced by 2. Cards you want to play off this effect: Research Librarian, St. Hubert's Key, Pathfinder, Dr. Milan Christopher, Truth from Fiction, and your flex Tomes.

Knowledge is Power - This is meant to thin your deck. You basically replace the card with one out of 3 cards of your choice. Prioritize playing this card on the 2nd copy of Lore in your hand since you can discard that copy of Lore to draw another card, meaning you can thin by 2. If you cannot, then you can still choose to use Knowledge on a Lore you've played, and it just thins by 1. Once you get your Guiding Stone and Prophecy Foretold Glyphs, you can use Knowledge to gain an additional action of either of these, not to mention without consuming a charge. Stretches her versatility to do either of those things.

Astounding Revelation - Not a secret how nice this card is. You thin your deck and get 2 resources or put a secret charge on either Lore or one of the Archaic Glyphs depending on what you need more of during any scenario. This also helps you quickly complete your untranslated Glyphs. Ideally, you'll play the untranslated copy from hand before you use a Research Librarian or Lore search to maximize the Astounding Revelation. Cards that help you trigger this card are: Practice Makes Perfect, Research Librarian, Old Book of Lore.

Research Librarian - You almost always play this card for free since Astounding Revelation will replenish the 2 resources you used to play the card, or you played this card off Lore(3). If you've already gotten your first copy of Lore, you can opt to grab your flex tome or the 2nd copy of Lore. The 2nd copy of Lore is nice because of the aforementioned Knowledge combo. The deck runs 1 initial copy of Scroll of Prophecies because it can thin your deck of 4 cards if played off Knowledge (even though you discard 1) and you don't use an action to do this. Once you have at least one upgraded Lore(3), you can look to upgrade this card to like Pnakotic Manuscripts, Encyclopedia, Scroll of Secrets.

Archaic Glyphs - I like playing 1 copy of each of these Glyphs. This card has good synergy with Pathfinder since after you successfully investigate and the resulting evade occurs, you can move away from the location for free.

Truth from Fiction - Helps complete your untranslated Glyphs faster. Replenishes secrets up the upgraded Glyphs, Lore(3), and maybe your flex tome.

Practice Makes Perfect - This card searches your deck, helping you trigger Astounding Revelation. The 6 targets are Deduction, Perception, and Enraptured. Since Daisy already has 5 base intellect, plus she probably has one or both out (Milan and Key), you're going to be at 6 or 7 before adding the skill icons of whatever you choose from Practice Makes Perfect. Accelerate clues by reusing a Deduction after succeeding, accelerate deck thinning by reusing a Perception, replenish your charges on Glyphs and Lore(3) with Enraptured.

.::FLEX SPOTS::.

Deny Existence - Defensive cards like Forewarned, Ward of Protection, Logical Reasoning can be interchangeably used based on preference and circumstance. You could forgo these treachery-resisting cards if you have like a super dedicated treachery-resisting mystic. Ward and Forewarned do have the advantage of dealing with Ancient Evils and Dissonant Voices though.

Connect the Dots - With Milan, Lore(3), and Astounding Revelation, you don't struggle with resources as much as someone like Mandy does. In fact, you do often have a surplus of it, so I chose an expensive event I feel like I could play in most situations. Play your favorite big resource cost tools or whatever. Deciphered Reality, Fingerprint Kit etc, etc. Fingerprint is also much easier to play off Lore(3)

Flex Tome Slots - Encyclopedia is what I picked. This works nicely with Knowledge is Power, and help you and your teammates get through harder skill tests and difficulties. Pnakotic Manuscripts is great for treachery response and for dealing with critical tests, decent card to pump your secret replenishing cards into during mid-late game. Scroll of Secrets is for scrying the encounter deck for your team. Play whatever you want.

.::TERTIARY UPGRADES::.

Studious - Increase consistency. Teehee. Works well with Death • XIII too if you want to get that as well.

Abigail Foreman - If the taboo'd Milan is not your cup of tea, try her. She basically makes you a Mandy with Lore(3), scries the encounter deck for 6 cards via Secrets(3), boosts +2 twice with Encyclopedia, or provides the next two investigators with a chaos bag-free test with Manuscripts.

Higher Education - Well yeah, surplus of resources. Helps you deal with Willpower tests, Parleys, as well as pump up your Intellect for Deduction(2) and Guiding Stones Glyphs.

Deduction - Oh yes. More clues are always good.

I appreciate the writeup. I like that you didn't try to reinvent to wheel, but just tried to trim the deck so that it always accesses its strengths. Do you get bored of the deck though, with how singular-minded the deck is in terms of strategy?

I don't think you can put your weakness on Abigail. The Necronomicon goes to your threat area, and Abigail pulls a tome from your play area.

You're right! Thanks for correcting me. I got a chance to edit that part out since I wrote it in haste.

It's a bit weird how inconsistent they are. Some weaknesses that are assets go to the threat area and others go to the play area. I haven't noticed much of a pattern to it but it makes a difference here I guess.
