A starter deck for solo Zoey vs TCU.
When I played this to a campaign win, I went down a squirrelly path with wasted upgrades and blind alleys (Empty Vessel in solo… maybe not. Also, don’t take Inscription of Fury as published…, even in a solo Zoey), but the absolute core of the deck is simple:
- Kick the Hornet’s Nest
- Chop up the Hornets
Runic Axe gets the following upgrades, with Heirloom being your answer to particularly spooky TCU enemies:
Heirloom. Inscription of Glory. Inscription of the Elders. Ancient Power. Scriptweaver.
Later on, Holy Rosaries (2) round out the deck, but could be purchased after the axe reaches its 10xp.

Feb 09, 2025The fact it combines clue gathering, resources and grabbing an enemy. The final winning turn of the TCU campaign was KtHN at the Black Throne, grab Acolyte, get clue number 1, followed by an "Elders-infused" Runic Axe swing on the same Acolyte and there was clue number 2. This was two years ago and I still remember it! :-D |
I’m also trying out True Solo Zoey, also with Sixth Sense. But only through Carcosa so far.
What makes Kicking the Hornet's Nest so important (that it’s worth the splash card slots) instead of running Ward of Protection and another On the Hunt ?
