This is the final deck (sans story cards) my Solo Carolyn had for the custom campaign Alice in Wonderland.
The deck started with a simple question - who would be the best investigator to showcase my Ambassador card (as allocated by Veronica of Until The End of Time), Field Agent? Maybe Tommy, who could get a rebate on her death? Leo, who could play her actionlessly and get 2 clues for 3 resources? Eventually I decided on Carolyn thanks to her focus of horror healing, and her handy Elder Sign... then an online friend pointed out Carolyn could do the Shrewd Analysis trick with Ancient Stones (Minds in Harmony) and the deck kind of went from pedestrian to sonic speed.
Seriously. If you can draw Ancient Stones and Field Agent early (admittedly that takes a bit of luck), most scenarios crumple like wet tissue. One actionless clue a round that lets you turn on your passive income to boot? In solo that's huge. Add in Meat Cleaver for the occasional bit of self-defence (and additional money making) and you're laughing.
Most of the rest of the deck came about as I struggled to spend the resources and XP I was earning XD
Soul Sanctification to turn any overhealing into advantage (and also allow healing at 0 horror taken), Fickle Fortune for massive overhealing (and it's not like the Doom clock mattered), Keen Eye for big attack turns (... unless Carolyn's arm injury was playing up)...
The deck can struggle a bit until I can find the combo pieces. String of Curses is an amazingly helpful card for staving off most enemies while still getting advantage, but the deck is at the whims of card draw somewhat. I think a rework would probably try to squeeze in Backpack (2), and... I'm not sure, most likely more draw cards?
But this deck was a blast to play, and the campaign was an excellent one - thank you to The Beard for creating it and to Cerys for arranging the group printing :D
