Order Up – Will Pan & SpiderMana's Gotta Go Fast

Got another made-to-order decklist for you today, this one coming from a discussion in the Mythos Busters discord!

This is also my third published Survival Technique list in a row—I’m clearly on a bit of a kick!

Anyway, the prompt for this deck was to use the same Survival Tech/Shrine of the Moirai combo as in my recent Quantum Daniela list in order to recur Ace in the Hole for 6 actions per turn, and add in Good Weather to boost those actions.

I added in a few dilemmas as backups for both effects (extra actions off At a Crossroads, stat value from Making Preparations—yes, I managed to get my first-ever spoiler card into an actual list! I’m as amazed as you are), and grabbed Granny Orne, Plucky, and Track Shoes to help boost our investigate and evade stats to consistent levels across the many basic actions we’ll be taking. Orne and Plucky also provide sanity soak for the extra treacheries we’ll be drawing, and Precious Memento keeps Plucky from crashing out by handling the damage.

But all of those were pretty predictable inclusions.

What I bet you DIDN’T expect was for me to also bring in our PITCHFORK/SURVIVAL TECH DISCUSSION WOOOO! Thanks to "I'll take that!" which can be recurred as needed by Shrine of the Moirai, you can pick a pinned Pitchfork to hand with Survival Tech, then play it out fast via I’ll Take That during an evade and in the very next skill test step trigger Dirty Fighting to attack with it, saving both the recovery action and your next swing! Spider, have I convinced you about TechFork yet??

Obviously that aspect can easily be cut or ignored; with this many extra actions, even normal Pitchfork usage is quite solid. But with that we’ve successfully enabled clueving, combat, and evasion in a consistently six-action Rita who absolutely blasts through the scenario and can provide up to +3 in a relevant stat to her entire team each round, if she so chooses.

So that’s the build! It’s been a while since I’ve done a made-to-order deck, and I had a real blast with this one. It was an especially fun deck to deliver because I was already working on a Survival Technique/Shrine of the Moirai Rita for an upcoming article! So the combo was already bouncing around in my head, and I always love a good chance to proselytize either of those two fabulous cards.
