This is a dedicated Cluever to be used in conjunction with a dedicated Fighter. Despite Amanda's statline, she'll be investigating for WAY more than 2 MOST of the time!

Grim Memoir is your key card in this deck, allowing you to investigate at 4 before committing anything. Astounding Revelation and Enraptured help to keep it full of secrets.

Astounding Revelation has several "search" cards to play with:

• Old Book of Lore (which you'll upgrade to Level 3)
• Research Librarian
• Whitton Greene (whom you'll upgrade to level 2)
• Eureka!

Enraptured (which you'll upgrade to level 2) has several assets to which you can add secrets:

• Grim Memoir
• Old Book of Lore (3)
• Eon Chart

Thick Thoughts

I used my In the Thick of It experience to include Eon Chart (1) and two copies of Unrelenting in the level 0 deck.

Eon Chart (1) gives yo some great extra basic actions! Move is especially spicy if you have Whitton Greene in play, but even a basic investigate will eventually be fairly easy after your board is built up.

For In the Thick of It I always choose 1 physical and 1 mental trauma. Once you've purchased Miskatonic Archaeology Funding you can just leave a Research Librarian in play to soak for you, since you can only apply 1 damage / horror to a Miskatonic ally anyway.

Card Draw

Amanda's signature Weakness Whispers from the Deep is a card you want to draw during your turn so you can commit it right away and avoid getting it placed underneath Amanda, so I've included lots of draw and "pseudo" draw so you can find it rather than drawing it during the upkeep phase:

• Old Book of Lore - I'd be happy to "draw" Whispers from the Deep with this!
• Deep Knowledge
• Emergency Cache (2) (see Upgrade Plan below)
• Eureka!
• Perception / Perception (2)
• Unrelenting

Mulligans

Any time I run Astounding Revelation I'm a little afraid to Mulligan because I don't want to mulligan into one of them. BUT Grim Memoir is VERY important in this deck, but Research Librarian is actually better. He will find your Grim Memoir AND an Astounding Revelation which refunds his cost!

Upgrade Plans

My first purchase is Miskatonic Archaeology Funding so that I can have Dr. Milan Christopher and Whitton Greene in play at the same time and I can still play a Research Librarian when wanted / needed. If you're frugal you can get away with Charisma, but you'll still have to juggle allies a bit.

The second purchase is upgrading both Deduction for better clue gathering.

After that, Enraptured and Perception are pretty top tier upgrades to keep me rolling in secrets and cards, respectively, especially if I'm able to place one of them beneath Amanda.

Whitton Greene is probably next to increase search range and give me +1

Old Book of Lore could probably be upgraded earlier, because it adds some great action economy since you can spend one of its secrets to play the found card (AND at a cost reduction).
