This is a deck I have been using to play the Circle Undone with a Carolyn/Skids team. Both investigators are built as generalists and can hold their own in combat and investigation.

The deck presented is a level 19 version, which is the ideal place to get to (I'll link the level 0 version as well in the comments). This deck works in standalone mode as well and I've tested it extensively in solo and team settings.

Opening Hand: You want to mulligan your entire hand if you don't have a weapon in your opening hand. Eventually you want to get the meat cleaver in play, but to start it's fine to get any weapon.

Stick to the plan: Ever Vigilant, emergency cache, and dynamite blast should be placed under stick to the plan. Ever vigilant is not just an action saver, but will help with resource management. Even if you don't have 3 assets to play in your opening hand, use it. You'll use emergency cache the following round to top up.

Whatever you do, don't play any of the composure cards on your first turn unless you absolutely need to.

The composure cards are there for single round use (mostly), but if they happen to remain for more turns, more power to you.

Peter Sylvestre is there to fuel your Meat Cleaver and forbidden knowledge. I included. A lot of resource generation purposefully and this deck should always have ways to boost stats.

Although it's expensive, Keen Eye will help mostly with investigating and it certainly comes in handy at times. Mostly and ideally, though, you'll want to use composures for tests that you HAVE to pass.

Running this deck many, many times I rarely found myself short on resources.

In multilayer games, replace dynamite blast with teamwork if you prefer.

Don't be afraid to lose your composure to a Meat Cleaver attack or treachery, since keen eye will always be there.

Why composures? In addition to the additional horror cushion, the composures help get a stat to a much higher level for a lower cost than keen eye would. They're meant for those tests that you just have to pass.

Finally, the Ward of protection and deny existence cards are there for defense and you shouldn't be afraid to use ward, even if it would make you lose your composure.

Overall, if piloted well this deck should be able to handle quick clue acquisition and occasional combat. I opted for pain pills to heal damage as opposed to true grit or other healing cards because of the synergy with Peter, but feel free to replace them if you wish.

What is the best way to deal with a Rational Thought draw early on? Only cards you have to heal horror off yourself are Kerosene and Meat Cleaver and those are situational heals. Also Hypnotic Therapy, but that's a one of.
