Good Evening Mr. Banks

This is a beginner-friendly Roland Banks decklist built from 2 copies of the Core Set plus the complete Dunwich Legacy expansion cycle (actually only most of the cycle, since I didn't end up using anything from Where Doom Awaits or Lost in Time and Space). This should be viable both in solo and multiplayer play.

A few quick notes:

• My rule of thumb for Guardian decks is to include 5 weapons. For this deck that's Roland's .38 Special plus 2 copies each of Machete and .45 Automatic. Machete is the one you really want; .45 Automatic is the backup in case Machete doesn't show. Mulligan to try to get one of the 3 weapons in your opening hand.

• Art Student: Useful both for its ability and the 2 extra sanity it provides to help keep Roland in the game. You can replace this with Dr. William T. Maleson if you prefer.

• Taunt: Ditch this if you're playing solo. I would probably replace it with Preposterous Sketches but you could also use Dynamite Blast or just an Unexpected Courage.

• As far as upgrades, I usually start with 2 Pathfinder followed by 2 of Beat Cop (2). I tend to play it by ear from there but I'm usually looking at Vicious Blow (2), Stand Together (in multiplayer), "I've had worse…", Charisma and Brother Xavier. At some point you'll also want a higher-level weapon such as Shotgun or Lightning Gun.
