Update: 5 Exp

Removed 1x Dario for 1x Lockpicks. Given two more play opportunities, I don't see how I can get the resource engine efficient enough to make him worthwhile. The two cards don't change my skill tests and effectively gives me a permanent +3 as oppose to get 10 resources and it counts as a +1. Based on a few playthroughs now I think Dario might be a card you grow into later stages of the campaign when you have a strong resource creation engine.

Upgrade 2x Switchblades. The theory was by adding 2 cards that also plus up my strength would increase my fighting efficiency. That's a priority 1 item for Jenny's partnership with Roland. On the flipside let's see how much that matters in a card game. Last game all my weapons were stacked on the bottom of my deck. We got really lucky that we were not overrun by ghouls.

Campaign Start: Night of the Zealot

The deck was originally designed for a 2 player game to partner with Roland on Night of the Zealot. Since I have just 1 partner I thought Jenny had to be really good at two things:

  1. Fight - Especially since I am running sacrificial beast. If he pops up and neither of us can take him down. Then our risk of failure increases dramatically.
  2. Investigate - Need to pick up clues fast between the two of us. That's a key task in staying ahead of the doom for this campaign.

To be good at fighting I stacked the deck with 5 total weapons + 2 Hard knocks for general success. A couple cheap shots for good measure in case Roland and I get outgunned. which totals 9 combat-related cards.

For investigation, I have 2 Arcane Studies, 2 Flashlights, and 1 Doctor Milan. Coming in at 5 cards I should see at least one of these each game unless they all pile on the bottom. Starting at a 3 I am sure there will be some weak spots that I will be able to take advantage without any of those cards.

The overarching goal of this deck is to make resources and succeed so a lot of the other cards will speak for itself. I believe this will also be best achieved with a more toolbox approach of only using 1 copies of various cards to eliminate potential dead cards in my hand. I find this game tends to favor a more toolbox approach. I will be certainly putting that theory to test here shortly. This is my first Jenny deck and she is quite tough to build starting out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you aren't supposed to take Jenny's Twin .45s and Green Man Medallion at the same time, right? It should be one or the other? The same with Searching for Izzie and Sacrificial Beast?

Otherwise... fun, cool-looking decklist. I'm not sure I would spend my out-of-faction slots on Arcane Studies, but I suppose it and Hard Knocks does make it easier to just throw money at problems.

Also, you are a bit heavy on the Assets and light on the Skills? Don't you miss cards like Manual Dexterity and Perception?

Considering you seem to have sprung for a lot of single copies of cards, I would figure that with a toolbox approach, you want to draw more cards so that you can see more of your tools.

I don't have the rules in front of me, but when I read them I thought they say you can play with all of them or pick your set (Jenny's Twins/Searching or Green Man/Sacrificial). Kind of risky having 3 weaknesses floating around, but hey; Jenny is a gambler.

I would be interested what you play in the [Arcane Studies] slot? To me Jenny needs some backup in case all her good stuff ends up at the bottom. Being a two man game I wanted to make sure Jenny can get a few clues or pass the occasional willpower test as those can sneak up on you.

I don't miss Manual Dexterity at all. Since my Jenny is focused on fighting I felt I could let agility slide and if I need a clutch evade that's what cheap shot is for. Being at 3 I feel I can risk any agility mythos tests and gamble with monsters. With Perception I feel I am shored up with Arcane Studies and other cards Flashlight, Dr. Milan Christopher, etc.

Your point on my draw was definitely a struggle for me when deciding how to upgrade. My conclusion was if I had a longer campaign I might have opted for upgrade Emergency Cache, but I decided that if I make the cards more important because even though I draw less in the current form, each of those cards will be better and more impactful. In theory I have 2 more cards now that can strengthen my attack vs. just simply drawing into a weapon that would only increase damage, but not my strength.

My toolbox method is more a defense to create more options. For example most Jenny decks have 2x Leo De Luca cards. I find it frustrating to draw both early so it kind of mitigates the risk and allows me the opportunity to decide what is more valuable at that time between the board state, current resource pool, etc.
