The purpose of this deck is to get maximum value out of a single Lightning Gun which will be picked up at the first opportunity by using Sleight of Hand to fast draw and use 2 or 3 of it's standard 3 charges before it goes back to her hand.
Because Lightning Gun costs so much xp this deck is set up to not needing to spend xp to swap out 0xp cards while also not having dead cards in the first scenario of the campaign.
.45 Automatic can sit in your hand as long as you have Machete and you can Sleight of Hand it out if you encounter a monster that penalizes melee or become engaged with two monsters.
On a quiet turn you can use Sleight of Hand for Flashlight or Liquid Courage to save an action and charges.
Liquid Courage may be an edge include mechanically, but I enjoy the image of this over the top gunslinger taking swigs from her hip flask.
Aside from just being a strong card, Shortcut feeds into the Gunslinger theme. "Oh, it doesn't look like she can do much to help with this big monster. She would have to kill the monster on at her location and move, then she'd only have one action left to attack." - Shortcut, Sleight of Hand, Lightning Gun, Attack +5 +2 damage X3.
The upgrade priorities goes: Lightning Gun obvs replace .45 Automatic Keen Eye
After that I'm on the fence Extra Ammunition normally it pairs well with Lightning Gun, but the plan is to keep Lightning Gun in hand until it's been used via Sleight of Hand at least once.
I can report that I played a 9xp version of this deck in Carnivale of Horrors. My deck gave me a near worst case scenario where I still hadn't seen Lightning Gun after using both copies of Prepared for the Worst. Fortunately even when not performing its gimmick this build still serves as a functional Zoey deck and I did draw it in the last ten cards and was able to contribute heavily against the boss.
