This Patrice deck is geared towards either fighting enemies or avoiding them. Using the classic Survivor's Fire Axe/Dark Horse/Madame Labranche (etc.) combo allow you to make powerful axe attacks when you hit zero resources, then use Mme Labranche to claw some resources back ready for the next attack or turn. Gravedigger's Shovel is there as an alternative weapon if Fire Axe isn't drawn yet or you can't boost the Axe's strength, but it also can be discarded from play to find a clue without making a test (other than this and Fortuitous Discovery to grab clues in a pinch (throw away early copies of this card you draw via Patrice's compulsory discard rule if you want to grab multiple clues in the late game), this deck expects other investigators in the team to do the bulk of the investigating. Muilligan hard for the Fire Axe and/or Dark Horse, and then once you're broke use economy cards like Emergency Cache, Madame Labranche and Alchemical Transmutation to get some cash back to play any other assets you might need.

If there are multiple enemies engaged, or the combo cards haven't been drawn yet, cards like Stray Cat, Dig Deep, "Not without a fight!", and Fight or Flight help Patrice evade and run away to regroup. In fact, Fight or Flight is a clutch card given that it will help Patrice whether she is swinging or running.

The Mystic cards are there to give Patrice other options for killing monsters (Shrivelling and Storm of Spirits) or at manipulate the encounter deck (primarily) using Scrying and nerfing treacheries with Ward of Protection to ensure she and her friends can deal with what comes next (given that she usually draws 5 cards a turn, the advantage of Scrying on her own deck is minimal).

Patrice draws through her deck fast, and this is both her blessing and her curse. Cards like Resourceful and Fortuitous Discovery try and capitulate on the good cards that will end up in her discard pile, but mostly the deck has multiples of key cards and a range of different ways to deal with different situations, so that every turn's new hand ought to allow you solutions.

(This deck was built using cards up to the end of the Path to Carcosa cycle, plus Dream-Eaters.)
