This build was used in a Solo attempt of Night of the Zealot as my first "official" foray into the game.

Deck Building Considerations:

Neutrals: Being a Guardian, there's no need for a Knife and I decided to leave the Flashlight at home given the access to Magnifying Glass. Beyond that, I took every Neutral skill except Manual Dexterity, simply accepting that on Roland there is no running away. Of course, the Fed needs funding for weaponry, and Emergency Cache is his only source of resource generation.

Seeker: I kept my Seeker section lean and to the point in giving me an edge with investigation with Working a Hunch and Deduction and the aforementioned Magnifying Glass. I left all the book reading for Daisy, and kept the good Dr. Milan Christopher at home to instead focus my resources (and ally slots) in the Guardian tree. I have neither the time for Barricade nor the stats for Mind over Matter, and I left the skill boosters from both trees out to focus all resources on dealing damage.

Guardian: The primary omissions here are the skill booster Physical Training which I deemed too rich for my blood, and the Guard Dog, which was beaten out by the Beat Cop for priority. Finally, I had 4 Deck Slots to either put in Dynamite Blast, .45 Automatic or First Aid. Given how critical time can be in these scenarios, I decided to run fast and loose and take out the medical supplies. The firearm is always nice if I can't find my trusty Machete, and while the Dynamite Blast is expensive, it could be a clutch save if I particularly botch the Midnight Masks and need to fight my way through the hordes.

Upgrades: My primary options are upgrading my existing Beat Cop for added efficiency, or Magnifying Glass to save on some hands and cash. Beyond that, natural considerations towards Elder Sign Amulet to help Roland's fragile mind. You could ignore it all to go big with the Shotgun, but keep in mind how pricey this latter option is.
