This deck looks like it would be fun for multiplayer, throwing in just a few Mystic cards to manipulate the chaos tile bag. A lot of cards have only one copy, but it has many ways to search the draw pile to make up for the lack of consistency. Please comment with any suggestions or improvements!

Find lots of clues

Defensive cards let her mostly operate away from a Guardian

Two-pronged resource economy and search for cards as you need them

You'll succeed more often through manipulating the chaos tile bag

  • Ritual Candles softens the blow of the worst tiles, so you should see fewer failures.
  • If the Candles are in play they combo nicely with Olive McBride's power to pull 3 tiles / keep 2. But don't bother drawing or playing Olive unless you can precede her with the candles!
  • After some XP you add in 2 copies of Premonition, a game-changer
  • Finally you throw in Recall the Future, which can help you get a couple grand-slam results after you see the tile from your Premonition (or if you get lucky with a common tile in combination with Olive)

Cards to keep in your opening hand

Occult Lexicon, Old Book of Lore, St. Hubert's Key, Dr. Milan Christopher, and Whitton Greene. If you don't have an Old Book of Lore consider keeping a Research Librarian to search for one on your first turn.

Suggested path for spending first 13 XP

  • 4xp Miskatonic Archaeology Funding is a permanent, so you don't need to swap any cards out. It is key to using the many allies this deck features to search the draw pile and to soak up sanity damage.

  • 3xp Pathfinder swap in for Shortcut

  • 1xp Death • XIII swap in for a copy of Deny Existence

  • 3xp Old Book of Lore (3) upgrade only one copy for the secret tokens that provide discounts. [Why upgrade only one? You'll draw the upgraded version half the time anyways, and if you search your deck then it's the obvious choice, saving you 3 xp versus upgrading both]

  • 2xp Whitton Greene (2) upgrade only one copy for the stat bonus and improved search

Suggested path for spending up to 25 more XP

strategy memo: try to avoid cantrips / blood-rite until some of the Astounding Revelations are in the discard. Drawing it is a dead card that also means no free resources!

By the same token play as much deck search as possible with early use of Whitton, Eureka, Librarian, and Old Book of Lore.

strategy memo 2: if Olive doesn’t work out in practice or is too situational substitute Grotesque Statue (2)

XP memo: Field Work is probably a wasted card; maybe swap in a second copy of Shortcut from start. One will be cut from deck on early XP spending and the remaining copy will stick with deck a little longer
