Everyone knows that Mark Harrigan has the smouldering good looks of an action Superstar. So, this Mark deck harnesses his star quality to bolster an entourage of young people, federal agents, and dogs to help overcome the forces of Eldritch Chaos.

This is a combat focused deck built around The Star • XVII. Our game plan is to beef up our allies to garner more soak and more utility in the form of extra damage and clues.

We'll be running Charisma to have two Ally slots, one for Guard Dog and the other for Agency Backup. We will run Medical Student to have a target for Calling in Favors to bounce an almost spent ally back to our hand while healing our other ally. We can also use Calling in Favors alongside Hit and Run to play one of our more expensive allies and then go fishing for another ally with Calling in Favors (bonus points for doing this with Agency Backup to get a free clue as well).

For weapons we have Survival Knife to pair with our enemy phase damage dealing using Guard Dog(2) and then .32 Colt as a more offensive option. With only four weapons in the deck we can search out our weapons with Backpack, which is the tutor card I recommend for this deck since it also helps us find our one-of Hallowed Mirror, which allows us to play Soothing Melody and get even more use out of our allies.

The deck will have plenty of card draw being a Mark Harrigan deck. For resources, we want to include Motivational Speech, as our allies are going to be expensive, even with the hopeful discounts with Calling in Favors. Clean Them Out gives us some crucial resources that we will especially need if we miss drawing The Star in our opening hand.

I always love running Practice Makes Perfect in Mark. All of our skills are practiced, so we can always hit something. It gives us more damage out of Vicious Blow or helps us find The Home Front to move damage off of Mark and avoid having to flip over Sophie. Additionally, we can use PMP to get Take the Initiative for Mythos Phase protection, especially from the common case of tests that punish with horror, which we will want to avoid, only having 5 sanity.
