I am trying to come up with an Ashcan Pete deck for true solo. Please let me know what you think of it or if you have any suggestions for changes, thanks!

Looks interesting so far. A few notes:

  • I'm not noticing any cards that reduce shroud values. Do you plan to add any? If not, I'd advise cutting Shed a Light.
  • Unless you're planning to use Dark Horse mainly as encounter protection, I think Lone Wolf works against your deck more than it works for it.
  • I am very, very on the fence about Trench Coat. On the one hand, I have played Forgotten Age so I understand your desire to include evasion tech, but on the other hand 3 resources seems like a bit of an ask in a Dark Horse deck and even with Trench Coat and Track Shoes it looks like you'd only be okay for evading. If you really want to evade, I'd advise switching out Trench Coat for Scrapper if you have it, both as a way to boost your when needed and as a way to quickly trigger Dark Horse.

Thanks for your thoughts, Nightgaunt.

I can see the contradiction between Lone Wolf and Dark Horse, but I thought Lone Wolf could supply me with resources to spend if needs be either with Fire Axe or Mariner's Compass. You are not forced to use Lone Wolf, which should give me some control over the amount of resources. Besides, I'd like to get Leo as fast as possible into play, which means, I need to be able shell out six resources - perhaps I need another instance of Lone Wolf to increase my chances of drawing it early.

Pete is no fighter, so yes, either Duke will do the fighting or Pete will evade if necessary. However, since Duke can't possibly deal with all enemies, Fire Axe should give Pete the possibility to get rid of weaker enemies without having to use Duke.

However, maybe I should ditch A Glimmer of Hope which takes up three slots and instead add another copy of Scrounge for supplies or Resourceful or maybe another level 0 non survivor card, what do you think?

I am not sure if there are too many cards focused on finding clues, so am I missing another aspect which might cause trouble in true solo mode?

And I guess you are spot on about Trench Coat and Scrapper, so I exchanged the one for the other and will give it a go. I'll keep Track shoes for the extra movement though (and unlike Trench Coat the +1 Agility bonus is not limited to evasion attempts).

I understand your reasoning for Lone Wolf, and, now that you mention it, think I agree with it. Regarding Leo De Luca, though, you won't want steady resource generation like Lone Wolf, you'll want burst like Take Heart or Emergency Cache to avoid turning off Dark Horse for too many turns.

I'm too biased towards A Glimmer of Hope to give a truly objective analysis, but if I were in your position I would rather cut Shed a Light as, again, you don't seem to have any tech included to trigger it. Replacing it with additional copies of Resourceful and Scrounge for Supplies sounds fine.

I have limited/no experience with true solo, so I don't feel I can offer any guidance there. However, most of the options you've included (Mariner's Compass, "Look what I found!", Duke) seem reasonable, with only Shed a Light needing a real second look.

Many thanks, Nightgaunt. I also addedd Higher Education, so I can also spend Resources for Willpower and Intellect. Can't wait to try this out.
