Do you like stacking your decks with assets? Do you wanna deal 12 damage per turn, while still providing tons of healing and a global teleport to the party? Then this is your deck!
This deck list is a refined version of a deck I played in a 3 player game in Path to Carcosa, as a flex, alongside Norman Withers (gluever) and William Yorick (fighter), stripped down to the most basic pieces. There I didn't get access to Dr. Milan Christopher so I played Jeremiah Kirby instead.
It still needs 40 exp, but you can probably cut a few more pieces. (my version in the final mission used 66 exp)
The Main Idea:
- Gray's Anatomy + Ancient Stone (+ Lucky Cigarette Case, Pickpocketing) to ping a monster for 4 dmg with one action
- The Raven Quill to aid Gray's Anatomy - tutor, extra hand slot, ignore attacks of opportunity, +2 skills
- Archive of Conduits + Gray's Anatomy for healing
The COMBO - or how to deal 12 dmg \o/
Cards in play: Leo De Luca, Pathfinder, Lucky Cigarette Case, Pickpocketing, Gray's Anatomy + The Raven Quill, Ancient Stone
- Move to the monster's location using Pathfinder
- Use Gray's Anatomy to tag the monster. Winning by +2 triggers Lucky Cigarette Case so you draw a card. This triggers Ancient Stone which lets you ping the monster for 4 dmg [1st action]
- Use Gray's Anatomy [2nd action]
- Evade the monster. This triggers Pickpocketing -> card draw + another Ancient Stone trigger for 4 dmg [3rd action]
- Use Gray's Anatomy [4th action Leo De Luca]
- At the end of your turn, you can draw a card with Monterey Jack's ability, since you started the turn one location away -> another 4 dmg ping with Ancient Stone.
Tips and Tricks:
- Using Perception and Manual Dexterity also lets you get an easy card draw
- This deck needs tons of resources, so you should: get resources with Monterey Jack's ability, start every mission with +5 resources from Embezzled Treasure, prioritize Dr. Milan Christopher, Lone Wolf and Pathfinder in your opening hand
- While the COMBO is fun and strong in the late game, Prophesiae Profana is still the best card for Monterey Jack and should be bought and played first.
- You can use Refine and teammates playing Delve Too Deep for some extra exp
- Attentive readers may have realized, that it only takes one action to ping a monster for 4 dmg, which is enough most of the time
If you have exp to spare, I can highly recommend Alchemical Distillation. Also I like to play Hidden Pocket + Hiking Boots (+ "I'll take that!") for an extra hand slot, but that's just for fun. I've added some more potential upgrades in the side deck.
Have fun!
