You're a Wizard Marion

Marion is a "Wizard" because the first event she plays during her turn is a Cantrip (it replaces itself), she uses a flaming spell sword, and The Book of War might as well be called the Book of Spells because it levitates Tactic cards back to your hand! She also has an old Crow(bar) along for the ride!

Crowbar is here to Investigate, but I'll also pair this deck with a dedicated Cluever! You'll Tinker the Crowbar, but you also have a Bandolier in case you draw The Book of War first.

In Thick Thick of It

While I rarely use Versatile, I spent two of my Thick-XP for it so I could add Research Librarian to find The Book of War, and the third for Brand of Cthugha.

I'll upgrade the Brand and probably buy a second one during the campaign.

Because Marion only has 6 sanity, I'll take 2 physical trauma for In the Thick of It.

Mulligans

You don't have to find the The Book of War right away, but it's nice when you do (and Versatile makes that both harder because of +1 deck size and easier with Research Librarian).

Mulligan HARD for it or Research Librarian. If you find it early you can still use the Librarian to search for the other cop (just in case).

Upgrade Plans

This isn't necessarily the order I'll upgrade, it's just the upgrades I plan to purchase:

• A Glimmer of Hope >> A Glimmer of Hope (2)
• Emergency Cache >> Emergency Cache (2)
• On the Hunt >> On the Trail (1) >> On the Trail (3)
• Stand Together >> Stand Together (3)
• Overpower >> Overpower (2)
• Vicious Blow >> Vicious Blow (2)

That's a total of 29XP, so you could run this as a 29 XP Standalone deck.

If my Cluever doesn't really need my help I'll make the following additional upgrades:

• Crowbar >> Brand of Cthugha (4)
• Bandolier >> Backpack (2)
• Tinker >> A Chance Encounter (2). This gives you some re-usable Soak / Search!

With several cards still at Level 0, use Scrounge for Supplies to find the best card in the moment from discard.
