Hey folks! Duke asked the community for deck suggestions for his Con in Yellow Alessandra, and you know I can't pass up a chance to do a made-to-order decklist! So here's my offer of a classic Andy updated to include a bunch of the fun new Drowned City cards available to her.
The core of this deck is inspired by the heist-leading Alessandra I played on-stream for our first live card reveal back during FHV. We were previewing False Surrender and Eldritch Tongue, so I updated the list with those and some newer Parley tech (including Walter Fitzpatrick, who Duke specifically said he was hoping to see in some Andy decks going forward)!
The core engine of the deck revolves around using Eldritch Tongue to remove a bunch of your Parley cards from your deck by replaying them, allowing you to reduce your deck size to roughly 15 cards (four of which cantrip), and from there loop Vamp and Snitch for tons of clues and enemy control. Fueling the cycling is the mighty one-two punch of Pickpocketing and its spicy new cousin String Along, which can trigger off either Vamp or Andy's high-stat Breaking and Entering. "You've had worse..." prevents the horror from cycling racking up too high, and if all else fails soak from your Fine Clothes and good friend Walter can keep you going.
The Ironman this year is Return to the Path to Carcosa, so Parley as a strategy will be even stronger than usual. I'm planning to bring my own Teen Witch Parley Rita to my table, and I imagine the room as a whole will be seeing a lot of Walter and Fine Clothes!
Anyway, that's all for now. Thanks for reading, and Duke, I hope this deck succeeds in inspiring you!
Whoops, I may have made an error here–I'm not certain that "attempt to evade an enemy" actually covers the tests on Vamp OR Breaking and Entering. In fact, I'm pretty certain it does not work on the latter, even if the former ends up being slightly more up for debate. So String Along is tragically a no-go for this deck unless you spec harder into actual evasion, possibly with The Moon • XVIII, Moxie, etc.
Fortunately, Pickpocketing still works just fine! So our economy engine is only slightly reduced in strength, especially since Existential Riddle will still handily keep enemies around for us to Parley off of even without String Along's help.
