AKA The Tool Belt of Cosmic Order
What are we doing here?
Assets attached to Tool Belt take up no slots and their text box is blank. If we attach a Tool with Doom on it to the belt, and attach a miscellaneous asset with Doom on it to Elle Rubash, you can use Elle to switch the doomed tool for the doomed miscellaneous asset. In this way, you can attach almost any asset to the Tool Belt in order to turn off its text. Amina Zidane's ability is a convenient way to put Doom on almost any asset you might want.
OK, but why?
In this deck, we're making use of a suite of assets that Seal bad chaos tokens but have some sort of upkeep or other condition that will cause the sealed token to eventually return to the bag. We're going to turn off the upkeep, allowing us to keep those tokens sealed indefinitely.
Example Setup
Turn 1: Play Elle Rubash. Use Amina's ability to play Sign of Xelotaph with doom. Seal the spooky token of your choice. Attach the Sign to Elle with Elle's ability.
Turn 2: Play Tool Belt. Use Amina's ability to play a Flashlight with doom. Attach the Flashlight to the Tool Belt with the belt's ability. Use Elle's ability to switch the Flashlight for the Sign.
Now that you have Sign of Xelotaph on the Tool Belt, that token is out of the bag forever*. You will probably want to use Sin-Eater to pull the doom off the Sign and cleanse it, so you aren't accelerating the agenda.
Future turns: whenever you can, use the Tool Belt to grab the Doomed Flashlight again. Elle Rubash should always either be picking up a newly played Doomed asset, or shuffling a doomed asset over to the Tool Belt.
Is this actually any good?
I don't know, I haven't tried it. It's a bit slow, as you can only lock away one token per two turns, since getting an asset onto Elle and then over to the belt costs two Elle exhausts. It's inconsistent, since it requires Elle, a Tool Belt, and a Tool (as of early 2026, that is just Flashlight and Hand Crank Flashlight). It's also a bit fragile, as any time doom is cleared off your tool, such as from the agenda advancing or an unfortunately timed Deafening Silence, you have to get doom onto a new tool. (Hang on to your Word of Woe if you draw it, that's one way to get back on the doom train.) It's probably not very good, but it IS something that is uniquely Amina. It only really needs Elles and Sin Eater to start doing its thing, which is a modest 10 xp. Theoretically, by end game/late campaign, you could lock up the tentacle, 0-2 big negative numbers, and 4-6 spooky symbols. That's pretty cool, right?
Why isn't this a full deck?
I just wanted to get the main concept in place. You're probably better at building Mystic decks than I am, fill it out how you like. I assume some static willpower boosters, and then Investigate or Fight spells. Ally and Body slots are in use, and alternatingly either a Hand or Arcane slot. So you've got the Accessory slot as well as a Hand and an Arcane to work with. Elle can juggle two things at once, you could try Ceremonial Sickle beatdown. Maybe you want to play a different investigator (for better deckbuilding) and Transfiguration into Amina?
