Diary

7: Where Doom Awaits

Difficult fighting - we were short on strength cards, and Jim lacked spells. Time was not an issue - loads left. Bonus clue at start helped, and no brood having escaped previously. Skids had excellent money cards and allies at the start - and needed it. Got Leo De Luca, Brother Xavier and then replaced him with Zebulon Whateley in short order. A firearm might help for Avian Thralls and Conglomeration of Spheres. Jim used Blood Pact a fair bit with the hope of clearing with Moonlight Ritual (which he did)

Entered the gate...

6: Undimensioned and Unseen

Skids got Earl Sawyer and Zebulon Whateley out, which gave a large number of card draws through the game. Skids cycled his deck, which ended up with him using Dodge and On the Lam to avoid quite a number of attacks. Tough scenario at the start of the game, but eased towards the end.

Jim was both quite horrified and hurt by the end. Skids saved his experience.

5: Blood on the Altar

Skids failed to clear Hospital Debts, but Jim used Delve Too Deep. Pretty quick scenario, to be honest. Killed Silas Bishop.

4: Essex County Express

Brutal. Blocked by Arcane Barrier, and struggled with clue gathering. Skids had both Brother Xavier and Leo De Luca out and needed both as horror sinks. Just managed to escape.

3: Miskatonic Museum

Crypt Chill was crippling - Lost Leo De Luca and then Adam Lynch. Jim with Rite of Seeking is a decent clue gatherer - but needs more resources.

Destroyed the The Necronomicon

2: "House Always Wins"

Skid's Switchblade is awesome. Jim lacks weapons, and is possible balanced toward too much. He did all the back room investigation, though, while Skids went nuts with the knife.

Got Dr. Henry Armitage.

1: Extracurricular Activity

Lots of experience! Killed 2 Yithian Observers, Delve Too Deep twice, and a couple of locations. Avoided beyond the Veil too.

I see you're using one Hot Streak and Sure Gamble. Which is better in your opinion? Why aren't you using two copies of the better card?

Is there a reason you don't use Overpower as your skill card?

I'm using one of each partly to figure out which is better! That and it's just the way the XP fell. Of the two, I think prefer Sure Gamble, to be honest - I love turning that big loss into a big win. However, last game Hot Streak was brilliant; problems at the start meant having to soak up a lot of damage with Brother Xavier, who isn't cheap - but Hot Streak made it possible, and I could then get Zebulon Whateley out, too.

As for Overpower - well, mostly I wanted to try Leadership. I reckon I'll use Adaptable to add it back in for "Lost in Time and Space".
