This is a first go at a mercenaries deck focused around playing the cheap allies with an upkeep cost - Hired Muscle and Treasure Hunter. The idea is to play them for free using Leo's ability to get a passive skill boost to fighting or investigating depending on what you need to do that turn. As they were free to play it might be worth paying their upkeep cost once to them to hang around for an extra turn - paying 1 resource for a 4 to 6 +1 skill boosts seems like a good deal.

The other Leo is there so you have another action to benefit from the boost your mercy has provided - so hopefully you're paying 1 for something more like 6 to 8 +1 boosts. Charisma means we don't have to wait for Mitch Brown to play this combo.

Survival Knife give us another "action" to take advantage of the Hired Muscle's boost - if we don't mind taking some of the hit ourselves. The mercs can take the rest, hopefully triggering Decorated Skull on their way out, with Liquid Courage and Second Wind there to heal the damage we do take.

The +1 boost for the mercenaries won't be enough for more difficult tests so we still need other ways to help out fighting and investigations so I have included the standard guardian weapons Machete and .45 Automatic. Flashlight's been chosen over testless clue gathering as we want to be using Treasure Hunter to investigate the old fashioned way.

The rest of the deck is generally useful rogue/guardian cards (in my opinion). The only other include of note is Handcuffs, just in case we need to evade an enemy - which I felt made it worth playing Backpack as it took us up to 11 non-backpack items cards.
