  5. 2 Recuerdo querido 2 Recuerdo querido.
(29XP)

Why do you hit yourself?

Daniela was always the rudest of her neighborhood, she overcame even the hardest hits life gave her but felt somewhat alone, that noone would be her person... and then Aquinnah showed up.

If Peter is Agnes/Carolyn's boyfriend (depending on who you ask), why couldn't Aquinnah be Daniela's girlfriend? If both LOVE giving hits back.

The idea

With the recent release of Daniela Reyes and her ability to take advantage of enemies attacks I thought in creating this deck where we can maximize its use (thus the name of the deck: we want to get hit and make the enemy hit themselves) and allow our cluever get on with the job without worries.

Why Live and Learn and no Lucky!?

  1. This deck is expensive and we need to lower its cost as much as we can.
  2. We can always add Lucky! level 2 or 3, but L&L has to be one of our 5 cards since there's only level 0 of it.

Why Counterpunch and not Survival Knife?

  1. See above.
  2. It doesn't work with our girlfriend nor Flesh Ward, but if you don't use them then SK becomes into a weapon that deals 3 damage in the enemy phase (2 + 1 from Daniela).

Opening hand

In your opening hand you WANT to see:

Hard mulligan for them, unless you get Mechanic's Wrench or Hallowed Mirror since there's only one of each in the deck.

Piloting

In a typical round you're gonna play Heroic Rescue or "Get behind me!", or activate from your Mechanic's Wrench to get hit and activing de Guard Dog or Aquinnah's dealing 1-4 damage action and testless; and if that isn't enough you can always attack with your wrench's , Toe to toe or Brute Force adding 2-3 damage per turn.

Zero to hero

Here we'll see the upgrade path (purchase the cards in the order that you see, if you want to downgrade just go middle-up):

  1. 2 Daring 2 Aquinnah. Our girlfriend, obviously the first thing we think in the morning. (6XP)
  2. 1 Relic Hunter. We need to have both accessories in play. (9XP)
  3. 2 Emergency Cache 2 Nothing Left to Lose. Money and cards, what else to ask? (15XP)
  4. 2 Steadfast 2 Brute force (17XP)

CONGRATS! You made it to the published deck, from here on all will be deluxe upgrades.

  5. 2 Cherished Keepsake 2 Cherished Keepsake. To avoid exiling Mr. Pawterson just play the other one before the first is defeated. (19 XP)
  6. 1 Hallowed mirror 1 Bangle of Jinxes. You're gonna get hit so much you'll be having +2 on almost every test. Omit this purchase if you get an EotE weakness that hinders you and no other investigator could heal it. (20XP)
  7. 2 Counterpunch 2 Flare. Without the mirror to heal us we're gonna need to be more proactive on damage. (22XP)
  8. 1 Déjà Vu. So it doesn't feel bad exiling your teddies or flares (27XP)
  9. 2 Glory 2 Unrelenting. At this point you don't care about sealing positive tokens ands it's better to draw 2 cards for 0 resources rather than 1. (29XP)

Hey! Good job for the deck!

If I may, and with my little experience with Daniela, here's my take: Aquinnah (3) is really strong and synergises really well with Daniela's . But sometimes, some Crypt Chill will force you to lose her and as she is your main weapon, it can turn quite bad.

I would personally add maybe Enchanted Blade that also gives you +2 for your attacks when Counterpunch and Clean Them Out leave you with your only 5 Base , which can be a little unreliable. I would maybe replace Guard Dog as you will always prioritise Aquinnah over Guard Dog and your best option is to keep her alive as much as possible.

Also, I like the boxing gloves approach that would make your draw significantly higher!

And maybe you could keep the Guard Dogs and get Relic Hunter + Rod of Animalism

Anyways, cool basis and a lot to explore here!

2 other decks I am testing is a Blessed Daniela and a Déjà Vu x2 Daniela that are both really good!

Thanks a lot @Valentin1331!

Yeah both allies are susceptible to ally hate but that's why we have 4 of them (2 of each), they're meant to be replaced by the first one that you draw, but you can always take out the dog to add Inspiring Presence or Trusted.

And I am too not comfortable with just punching at 5 so those cards are meant to be used with 2-3 combat enemies.

Déjà Vu Daniela sounds pretty fun and strong, looking forward to it!
